2008-2009 Division 1 Line-Up

    The City Traders Division 1 line-up for the 2008-2009 season has now been finalized and there will again be ten teams. Outgoing teams are Lambourne, Rising Sun & Oaktree who have all been promoted to the Premier Division.
    New teams for this season are Mow Cop Athletic, Grapes (Newchapel) & Saracens Head who have been promoted from Division 2.
    London Road Tavern have now become the Sneyd Arms and Potters Wheel have changed their name back to Britannia.

    The full line up including last seasons final positions is:

    Britannia
    Last Season: 6th Division 1 (Potters Wheel)

    Cornerpin Warriors
    Last Season: 7th Division 1

    Duke of York Barlaston
    Last Season: 9th Division 1

    Grapes (Newchapel)
    Last Season: 2nd Division 2 - Promoted

    Mow Cop Athletic
    Last Season: 1st Division 2 - Promoted

    New Inn (Burslem)
    Last Season: 8th Division 1

    Saracens Head
    Last Season: 3rd Division 2 - Promoted

    Seabridge
    Last Season: 10th Division 1

    Smithfield Firestarters
    Last Season: 4th Division 1

    Sneyd Arms
    Last Season: 5th Division 1 (London Road Tavern)

    The teams who have been promoted are pretty good sides!

    Mow Cop have a got a good side but they have had a new manager so got knows what system he will play.

    I watched Saracens V's Mow Cop last year, I think Saracens won 1-0. They are a 2 man team. They have got a big youth in the center of midfield who is quality and quick, skillful lad up front (who has a rocket of a shot). Apart from that they pretty average!

    Dont really know much about the Grapes but I have heard they are a reasonable side!

    I've heard that the Smithfield are a good side, Strong at the back powerful in midfield, deadly up front and can score goals from any position. Don't know if that's true tho

    What a coincidence gaffer, with that post and I've just read on the BBC news website that Paddy Power are already paying on Smithfield promotion!
