This is the quote from Stanners this week:
his attitued prior to Sunday has been awful. Storming off when he found he was on the bench, throwing his shirt off when subbed, leaving the game altogether whilst still playing.

Last night at training all of Stanners toys and dummies were thrown out of his pram in a massive sulk as he stormed off not happy with the training happening around him. In fact the only toy not thrown out of the pram was his precious water bottle.

This was unbelieveable as this week he has been ranting about Masks attitude from previous weeks. In the words of Damo - Pot calling the kettle black.

Fair enough, I know why he was annoyed, I wasn't working hard enough. I just couldn't seem to get myself motivated, mainly because of the sproppy rants I was recieving were just annoying me.

It is however unbelievable that an adult male will storm off in the fashion of a pre-pubesant female who has been called a cow by her best mate (I have seen this many times).

My final question - are we going to be graced by an explaination?

I think this image is very fitting to the situation.

What you will notice here player is 3 actions by a player over the last few weeks, and being fair to Mask his attitude the last two Sundays has been good.

What we are talking about however is a single incident in the last two years. I have not missed time off for "babies fault", "team x playing so I'm watching them", "hangover", "no lift to the game", "too cold", "can't be arsed" or any other variety of excuses you wish to dream up. The simple fact is it takes something of epic proportions for me to not turn up or walk away. I would therefore suggest that this pot has not even opened his mouth yet and can not be accused of hipocracy.

Coincidentally you have been kind enough to outline the reason for my little turn to the darkside and I applaude your honesty ...

especially difficult for the team with less players and who should all be working harder just to keep it on an even keel as best they can. Once you learn to quit and not put in that effort, it becomes a habit.

I've posted on another thread about what an important chance I thought Thursday was going to be in making management give me more that my average 7.3564 minutes but that went out of the window in right royal fashion. I can only hope the little tinge of sadness, that little knot in the pit of your stomach, the realisation you are not going to play you felt yesterday goes some way to helping you understand how I feel after giving up at least 160 minutes every Sunday for 7.3564 minutes of game time and 3 touches of that bag of wind for the glory we call Football.

Thursday night is not only about a game of football, it's about giving you a chance to engage in the nearest thing to urban warfare, the survival of the fittest, a chance to pit your wits against your fellow man without hurting them too much.
Let's take last Thursday for instance, an even battle until re-enforcements came riding over the hill shifting the power balance in favour of the Nazi storm troupers, forcing the British back into their trenches. The british renown for their gritty never say die attitude would surely fight to the death shoulder against shoulder so that good old blighty would be safe from tyranny and our children could sleep safely in their beds. But amazingly the army from our Emerald isles crumbled and let the Taliban invaders walk all over them.
What could have possibly gone wrong?
Well one of the freedom fighters decided he'd go up front and not stand shoulder to shoulder with his comrades, thinking if he surrendered he would get away unscathed and live to fight another day. This upset his brothers in arms and they would now have to fight harder to compensate for the dead weight. But incredibly another one of their own decided to go for a drink of water, then another, and another, before walking away from the battlefield with no thought for his team mates who had to battle on bravely and left the field bloodied, battered, but heroes in defeat.

I pretty glad I started this abomination for 2 reasons:

    1. Its good to see that a sarcastic fun piece of comical humour has been taken in the light hearted manner it was intended.
    2. It has flagged up my need to pop into either Webberleys or Waterstones to pick up a variety of dictionaries and thesauruses.

    To conclude:
Stanners, lighten up it was a joke (if your honest, a deserved one).
Gaffer, please dont quote any more, its difficult to read enough without having the input of intelligent people!
