I have finalised the reply box and am happy that the bugs with it have been ironed out, so here are a few pointers for getting the best out of your replies.
We now use bbCode (for those of you familiar with other forum software) so you can either manually enter bbCode tags or you can use the buttons above the reply box. bbCode tags use an open square bracket, then the tag, then a close square bracket. Here are some examples (with an added space so that the bbCode isn't read as such!):
[ b ]This is bold text[ /b ]
[ i ]This is italic text[ /i ]
[ u ]This is underlined text[ /u ]
[ s ]This is strikethrough text[ /s ]
[ color=blue ]This is blue color (American spelling!) [ /color ]
[ center ]This is centered text[ /center ] will give:
To post a quote, copy the text you want to quote and then use the "Quote" button.
[ quote ]This is quoted text[ /quote ] will give:
This is quoted text
Alternatively, to quote a full post by somebody else just click the word 'QUOTE' at the bottom-right of the post you want to quote. This has the benefit of putting "Jo Bloggs said:" at the start of your quote. You can click on as many other quotes as you want and it will add it to your reply
To inser a smilie into your post just click on the little smilie to the right of the reply box and then click on the smilie you wish to insert.
To inset a hyperlink e.g. Sentinel website, put the cursor in the text at the point you want the link to appear and then press the URL button. A box will appear for you to enter the web address (URL) into e.g. http://thesmithfieldfc.co.uk, and when you OK that another box will appear for you to enter the text to display (rather than the URL).
To link to an image put the cursor in the thext at the point you want the image and click the IMG button. A box will appear for you to enter the web address (URL) of the image into e.g. http://thesmithfieldfc.co.uk/images/image.jpg.
You can upload attachments from your computer to the forum e.g. photos, by clicking 'Browse...' and then locating the file on your computer. To add more than two at a time click '[+] more'. Then click 'Upload' before you submit the post!
Please feel free to try out some editing in this thread!!!
